Michael Holub has been serving as Chief of Police in La
Grange, Illinois since April 1, 2003. Chief Holub is a native of Berwyn, Illinois and attended
Morton West High School in Berwyn, graduating in 1970. He is a military
veteran, having served with the U.S. Army's Official Ceremonial Unit and Escort
to the U.S. President, the Old Guard (the 3d Infantry Division).
After his military service, Michael Holub joined the Stickney, IL Police Department in 1974. He spent the next twenty years at Stickney P.D. and rose through the ranks to the position of Chief of Police. Michael Holub has also served as Chief of Police of the Village of Palos Park, IL, and as Chief of Police of the Village of River Forest, IL. In 1993, Michael Holub attended the 174th session of FBI National Academy at Quantico, Virginia. Chief Holub remains actively associated with the FBI through his membership in the FBI National Academy Associates. He was the 2007 President of the Illinois Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates. Chief Holub received a Bachelor's Degree with honors in Criminal/Social Justice from Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois, and has his Master's Degree in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration from Western Illinois University. He holds the distinction from the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police of being a Certified Police Chief, and is also a member of the adjunct faculty of Triton College in River Grove, Illinois, teaching courses to undergraduate students in the criminal justice program.
